Less urgent struggles

If youre struggling with an overall lack of motivation that a crisis line wont be able to help with, take the advice of our Psychotherapist.

Marie-Claire recommends stomach breathing to try and zone out negative thoughts temporarily. Stomach breathing imitates the breath of sleep. As you breathe in your stomach should expand and as you exhale it should contract.

Another word of advice from Marie-Claire is be kind to yourself. Avoid saying such cruel things to yourself. "I'll never be good enough" etc. We would never dream of saying these to our friends. Instead of telling yourself you're too lazy to do things remind yourself you're just not motivated. Question why and get something out of your lack of motivation.

If you're lying in bed you're not lazy, you're probably tired so you need to lie in bed.

Part of our goals of this site is to normalise these feelings. They're part of the human condition as social animals. When you know its normal you can say to yourself "Oh ok, everyone has this, its not just me". Without lows there would be no highs. Check out more on our testimonials page
